Facebook and Instagram Product Catalog

Sync your products to Meta with a catalog feed link so you can run catalog ads and tag products on Facebook and Instagram.

What is the catalog integration?

The Facebook and Instagram Catalog integration publishes your online store products as a live feed link that Meta reads automatically. Once connected, your products, prices, photos, and stock levels appear in Meta Commerce Manager, ready for catalog ads, Advantage+ campaigns, and product tagging on Facebook and Instagram posts. There is nothing to re-upload when products change: Meta refetches the link on a schedule and stays in sync on its own.

Store level integration

The catalog is connected per store. Each store with an online storefront gets its own feed link with its own products, prices, and stock.

Before you start

  • Your store needs an active online storefront, since every catalog item links back to its product page.
  • You need a free Meta Business account with access to Commerce Manager.
  • Products need at least one photo. Meta rejects items without images, so products with no photos are left out of the feed.

What the feed contains

Catalog fieldComes from
Title and descriptionThe product name and description
PriceThe store price if one is set, otherwise the base selling price, in your store currency
AvailabilityLive stock at this store: in stock or sold out
LinkThe product page on your online store
ImagesThe product photos, main photo first
BrandThe brand name you set on the integration, or the store name
VariantsEach variant is its own catalog item, grouped under the product, with size and color when your options use those names

Connect the catalog

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations in the business portal.
  2. On the Facebook & Instagram Catalog card, click Connect.
  3. Choose the Store to connect.
  4. Optionally set a Brand name. It shows on every catalog item; leave it empty to use the store name.
  5. Save. No keys or passwords are needed: saving creates your private feed link and opens the settings page where you can copy it.
  1. In Commerce Manager, create a catalog of type E-commerce, or open an existing one.
  2. Go to Catalog > Data sources and click Add items.
  3. Choose Data feed, then Scheduled feed.
  4. Paste your feed link, pick an update schedule (daily works well; hourly is the fastest Meta allows), and save.

Meta downloads your products right away and then refetches the link on the schedule you picked. You can trigger an extra fetch anytime from the data source settings with Request update now.

Keep the link private

The feed link contains a long random token instead of a password. Anyone with the link can read your public product list, so only paste it into Commerce Manager. Deleting the integration invalidates the link immediately.

Which products are included

A product appears in the feed when all of these are true:

  • The product is Active and Available on online store.
  • It has at least one photo.
  • If your storefront hides out-of-stock products, the product is in stock. Otherwise out-of-stock products are included and Meta shows them as sold out.

The feed reflects changes within about 15 minutes; Meta then picks them up on its next scheduled fetch.

Works with the Facebook Pixel

If you also connected the Facebook Pixel, catalog ads and retargeting work out of the box: the pixel reports the same product identity the feed publishes, so Meta can show visitors the exact products they viewed or added to cart.

Troubleshooting

ProblemFix
Meta says the feed URL cannot be reachedCheck the integration is Active in Settings > Integrations and that your store and its online storefront are active.
Some products are missing from the catalogConfirm the product is Active, available on the online store, and has at least one photo. If your storefront hides out-of-stock items, restock the product.
Prices or stock look outdated in MetaMeta refetches on your chosen schedule. Use Request update now in Commerce Manager to fetch immediately.
Items rejected for missing imagesAdd at least one photo to the product; it joins the feed automatically.
