Online Storefront Overview

How your online store works, what customers see, and where to configure appearance, content, social links, checkout, and tracking.

What is the Online Store?

The Online Store (or storefront) is a customer-facing website where people can browse your products, add items to cart, and place orders online. Each store in Cashvio can have its own storefront accessible via a unique subdomain (e.g., mystore.cash-vio.com).

Want a store without monthly fees? See how to create a free online store synced with your free POS.

Important

Cashvio supports subdomain-based storefronts only (format: yourstorename.cash-vio.com). Custom domains are not currently available.

How Customers Experience Your Store

When customers visit your storefront, they see:

Home Page

  • Hero images: Up to 5 large banner images with display order control (see Storefront Appearance)
  • Featured categories: Your product categories for easy browsing
  • Featured products: A selection of your active products

Product Browsing

  • All Products page with search, sorting, and filtering
  • Category pages showing products in each category
  • Product detail pages with images, descriptions, variant selection, pricing, and share buttons (WhatsApp, Facebook, copy link; see Sharing Your Store)
  • Review stars on product cards: Products with approved reviews show their star rating and review count everywhere they're listed
  • Recently viewed: A strip of the customer's recently viewed products on the home page and under each product page
  • Related products: On each product page, more items from the same category ("You may also like")
  • Sorting and filters: Sort by newest, name, or price; filter by category or in-stock only
  • Hide Out of Stock: When enabled in Online Store > General, out-of-stock products stay out of the catalog, search, category pages, and featured (special) products on the home page. Direct product links also return not found, so shares and search results stay consistent.

Shopping Cart

  • Customers add products, adjust quantities, and see subtotal, shipping, tax, and total
  • Stock validation: The cart checks product availability and maximum order quantities
  • Minimum order nudge: If you set a minimum order value, the cart shows a progress bar until the minimum is reached

Checkout

Customers choose delivery or pickup, select payment (Cash, Receipt / Transfer, or Online), confirm delivery zones and fees, and review the full order breakdown before placing the order.

See Online Checkout Flow for the full checkout process.

Language Support

  • Customers can switch between English and Arabic
  • The entire storefront supports RTL (right-to-left) for Arabic
  • Add ?lang=ar or ?lang=en to any store link to open it in that language (see Sharing Your Store)

Theme

  • The look of the whole storefront (colors, fonts, corner style) comes from the theme you pick
  • Customers can toggle between light and dark mode, and every theme includes both palettes

Announcement Bar

An optional promo strip at the very top of every page in your theme's primary color. Configure bilingual text in Storefront SEO & Content; leave it empty to hide the bar.

Copyright, optional custom footer text, static page links, social icons, and "Powered by Cashvio" attribution. On mobile, a bottom navigation bar replaces the footer. Configure footer text in Storefront SEO & Content.

WhatsApp Chat Button

A floating WhatsApp button on every page lets customers start a chat in one tap. Configure the number and toggle in Social Media & WhatsApp.

Portal Settings

In the portal, open Online Store from the sidebar (or Settings > Stores > your store > Online Store tab). If the storefront hasn't been created yet, a Create button sets it up.

From General, switch the storefront Active / Inactive and toggle Hide Out of Stock. Settings are grouped into General, Theme, Featured Products, Pages, SEO, Contacts & Social, and Tracking. Logo, hero banners, and announcement text live inside the Theme Builder, next to the live preview. SEO and contacts each have their own tab. Use the cards below for step-by-step guides on each area.

Tracking IDs

Under Online Store > Tracking, add Google Tag Manager, Facebook Pixel, and TikTok Pixel IDs to measure storefront behavior. See Google Tags, Facebook Pixel, and TikTok Pixel for setup details.

What Affects Your Online Store

Your storefront is connected to the business portal. Changes you make in the portal are reflected on the storefront:

Portal SettingStorefront Effect
ProductsProducts appear when their status is "Active" and Available on Online Store is on
CategoriesActive categories appear in navigation and browsing
PricesSelling prices from product variants are displayed
Fulfillment MethodsStorefront-enabled methods (Delivery, Pickup) appear during checkout, configured separately from portal methods
Delivery ZonesAvailable delivery areas and fees during checkout
Storefront Payment MethodsCash, Receipt / Transfer, and Online appear during checkout based on your configuration
Service FeesDelivery and service fees are applied during checkout

Important

Only active products and categories appear on the storefront. Inactive items are hidden from customers. Active products also need Available on Online Store turned on, which lets you sell something at the counter without listing it here. If "Hide Out of Stock Items" is enabled, products with zero inventory are also hidden.
