Choose Which Products Appear Online

Show or hide any product on your online store with one switch, while it keeps selling normally at the counter.

Not everything in your catalogue belongs on your online store. Counter-only items, wholesale packs, staff meals, and products you only sell face to face can stay out of the storefront while remaining fully sellable in New Sale. The Available on Online Store switch on each product decides that.

The switch is on by default, so every product you create is published to your storefront unless you say otherwise.

Where to Find the Switch

  • When creating a product: Catalogue > Products > Add New Product > Full Form, in the Status & Visibility card.
  • On an existing product: open the product, click Edit, and toggle Available on Online Store.

You can flip it as often as you like. The change takes effect on your storefront immediately.

Note

The switch only shows when your plan includes the online store. On plans without it, every product simply stays published.

What Happens When You Turn It Off

WhereResult
Storefront catalogue and searchThe product disappears from the listing
Product page linkAnyone opening the old URL gets a "not found" page
Featured productsIt is removed from the home page strip, and you cannot pin it
Customer cartsThe line is dropped automatically and the shopper is told it was removed
CheckoutThe order is rejected, so no one can buy it online through a stale page
SitemapThe product URL is no longer submitted to search engines

What Stays Exactly the Same

Hiding a product from your online store is purely a storefront decision. It does not touch anything else:

A product must be available on your online store before you can pin it as a featured product. In the product picker, hidden products are still listed so you can find them, but they appear dimmed with a Not on online store tag and cannot be selected.

If you hide a product that is already pinned, it stops showing on your home page right away and the featured list flags it, so you know to publish it again or remove it from the list.

Availability vs Status

These two settings answer different questions, and they work together.

SettingQuestion it answersEffect when off
Status (Active / Inactive)Do you still sell this product at all?Hidden everywhere, including POS
Available on Online StoreDo you sell it online?Hidden online only, still sold in-store

An inactive product never reaches your storefront, no matter what its availability switch says. See Product Statuses.
