Favorites, Recent, and Remembered Defaults

Pin your best sellers, re-add recent items in one tap, tune how the catalogue looks and sounds, and let New Sale remember your channel and last discount.

New Sale remembers the choices you repeat at the counter, so each new ticket starts the way you left the last one. Everything on this page is saved in the browser on this device, separately for each store.

The unfinished sale is offered back with Resume unfinished sale? after the app closes mid-sale. See Unfinished sale saved automatically.

Sales channel

When you pick a Channel, the register keeps it for the next ticket. It comes back after New Sale, after you hold a ticket and start a new one, and after you reload the page, as long as that channel is still active for the store.

  • If you clear the channel, the next tickets start without one until you pick a channel again.
  • If the channel is deactivated or removed from the store, it is dropped silently and the ticket starts without a channel.
  • A held ticket you resume keeps its own channel.

On desktop the Channel picker sits in the top bar; on phones it is in the cart.

Last discount

After you apply a Manual Discount, the next time you open the discount dialog on a ticket without a discount, it opens on that same type and amount (and highlights the matching percentage chip). See Cart, Discounts, and Fees.

The discount is only a starting point: nothing is applied until you tap Apply Discount.

Catalogue views: All, Favorites, Recent

A switch above the products chooses what the catalogue shows:

ViewShows
AllYour whole catalogue
FavoritesThe products you pinned, in the order you pinned them
RecentThe last items you added to a sale on this register, newest first

On desktop the category chips have their own row above the switch and stay visible in every view: choosing a category also narrows Favorites and Recent to that category. The switch shares the row below with the pinned count and Edit (in Favorites) and the register buttons. On phones the switch is a full-width row under the search field, and the category chips appear only in All.

The view you choose is remembered on this device: it stays selected after New Sale and after a reload. The category filter still resets to All categories for each new sale.

Products in Favorites and Recent look and work exactly like they do in All: tap a tile or row to add it to the ticket, with the same stock checks, option picker and add-on choices.

Searching filters the view you are in: the whole catalogue in All, only your pinned products in Favorites, and only recent items in Recent. Scanning a barcode always searches the whole catalogue, whichever view is open.

Pin products to Favorites

Pinning puts a product in Favorites. You can pin up to 60 products per store.

With a mouse or trackpad

  1. In the list layout, every row shows a star at its end. In the grid layout, point at a product tile and a star appears in its top corner. You can also reach it with the Tab key.
  2. Click the star. A filled star means the product is pinned; pinned products always show their star.
  3. Click the star again to unpin.

On a touch screen

  1. Press and hold a product for about half a second. The product is pinned (or unpinned if it was already pinned), with a short vibration when Sound and vibration is on and the device supports it. A long press never adds the product to the ticket.
  2. Pinned tiles show a small star. A normal tap still adds the product to the ticket.
  3. In the list layout, you can also tap the star at the end of any row to pin or unpin it.

Each pin or unpin shows Added to Favorites or Removed from Favorites with an Undo button, so a mistaken tap is easy to reverse.

Edit favorites

To pin or unpin many products at once:

  1. Open Favorites and tap Edit (next to the n pinned count). When Favorites is empty, tap Choose favorites instead; this opens the full catalogue in edit mode.
  2. A bar shows Tap products to pin or unpin and how many are pinned (for example 12 of 60).
  3. Tap any product to pin or unpin it. While editing, taps never add products to the ticket and barcode scans are paused. Category chips and search still work so you can find products.
  4. Tap Done (or press Escape) to finish. Switching store also ends edit mode.

Favorites is full

When 60 products are pinned, pinning another shows Favorites is full (maximum 60). Unpin a product to add another. Nothing is removed automatically.

When you unpin the last product while in Favorites, the view stays open and shows No favorites yet with Choose favorites.

Recent items

Recent lists the last 12 different items you added to a sale on this register, newest first. Each tile or row is labelled with the option you sold (for example Latte · Large), and tapping it adds that exact option without opening the option picker. Products with add-ons still ask for them.

An item moves to the front of Recent each time you add it from a tile, a list row, a scan, Favorites or Recent. Custom items, quantity changes on the ticket and resumed held tickets do not count. A product added with a quantity multiplier counts once.

While Recent stays open, its tiles keep their places, so tapping the same tile again adds the same item. Items you add for the first time join at the end. The newest-first order shows the next time you open Recent.

Before you sell anything, Recent shows No recent items yet.

Products you delete or deactivate disappear from Favorites and Recent automatically.

Display options

Tap Display options at the end of the catalogue toolbar (next to the grid/list switch) to tune the catalogue for this register. It opens a menu on desktop and a sheet on phones. Changes apply immediately.

OptionChoices
SortNewest first (the standard order, used until you pick another), Name A–Z, Price: low to high, Price: high to low. Applies to All and to search results; Favorites keeps your pinned order and Recent keeps newest first.
Tile sizeComfortable (standard tiles) or Compact (smaller images and more tiles per row, about eight on a wide screen and four on a phone). The list view is unchanged.
Hide out-of-stock productsHides products whose tracked stock is used up in every view. Products without stock tracking always show. A line under the products tells you how many are hidden (for example 3 out-of-stock products hidden).
Sound and vibrationOn by default. A short beep (and a short vibration on phones and tablets that support it) when an item is added; a low double beep when a scan finds nothing or a product is out of stock. Turn it off for a silent register.

Display options belong to the register, not to the cashier: they are saved for this store on this device and stay after you sign out.

Signing out

Signing out clears your Recent list and your unfinished sales from this device, so the next cashier starts with their own. Your Favorites, remembered channel and discount are kept for your account on this device and come back when you sign in again; other cashiers never see your pins. The view you chose and the display options stay on the device.
