Creating Orders (New Sale)

Step-by-step guide to the full-screen sale screen — adding products, applying coupons and discounts, and taking payment.

Opening the Sale Screen

There are two ways to start a sale:

  • Click the New Sale button — it is always pinned in the sidebar.
  • Use the New Sale quick action on the Dashboard.

The sale screen opens in full-screen mode, designed for fast, touch-friendly selling at the counter.

Note

If you have multiple stores, you will be asked to choose the store first. The catalogue, prices, and payment methods all follow the selected store.

The Catalogue Panel

The main area of the screen shows your products as tiles:

  1. Browse by category — Use the category bar to filter products.
  2. Search — Find products by name using the search field.
  3. Tap a product to add it to the cart. If the product has multiple variants (size, color, etc.), a variant picker opens so you can choose the right one.
  4. Out-of-stock products are indicated on the tile, and stock limits are enforced when adding to the cart.

Custom Items

To sell something that is not in your catalogue (a service or a one-off item), open the cart menu and choose Custom Item:

  • Enter a name, price, and quantity.
  • Custom items do not affect inventory levels.

The Cart (Ticket)

The cart panel shows everything about the current sale:

SectionWhat you can do
CustomerAttach an existing customer or create a new one on the spot. The customer's store credit balance is shown.
FulfillmentChoose In-Store, Pickup, Delivery, or Dine-In. Delivery asks for the customer's address.
ItemsAdjust quantities with + / −, or remove lines.
SummarySubtotal, fees, discount, coupon, tax, and the final total.

On mobile, the cart appears as a bar at the bottom of the screen — tap it to open the full cart drawer.

Coupons

  1. Open the Coupon option in the cart.
  2. Enter the coupon code.
  3. The code is validated instantly — active status, validity dates, usage limits, and minimum order value are all checked — and the discount is applied to the summary.

See Coupons for how to create and manage coupon codes.

Manual Discounts

  1. Open the Discount option in the cart.
  2. Choose Fixed Amount (e.g., 50 EGP off) or Percentage (e.g., 10% off).
  3. The total updates automatically.

Fees and Notes

  • Service fees and delivery fees are added automatically based on your store configuration, and can be edited on the sale.
  • Add an optional note to the order from the cart menu.

Taking Payment

Click Charge / Checkout to open the payment dialog.

Store Credit

If the attached customer has store credit:

  • A Use Store Credit toggle appears at the top.
  • Enable it to apply the balance toward the order. If credit covers the whole amount, no other payment method is needed.

Payment Methods

Choose the method for the remaining amount:

MethodDescription
CashQuick-amount buttons let you tap the tendered cash in one touch; the change due is calculated automatically.
OnlineDigital payment (card, InstaPay, mobile wallet, bank transfer, etc.).
ReceiptTransfer payment with an optional receipt image upload (JPEG, PNG, or WebP).

Note

Only payment methods enabled for the selected store appear. See Payment Methods to configure them.

Partial and Scheduled Payments

You can take part of the total now and schedule the rest:

  1. Edit the amount to pay now.
  2. Enable Schedule Remaining Payment and pick a due date.
  3. The remainder becomes a scheduled payment you can track in Overdue Payments.

Pay Later

For Pickup, Delivery, and Dine-In orders, you can skip payment entirely and collect it later — the order is created as unpaid. In-Store sales always require payment.

After the Sale

The success screen shows:

  • The change due (large and clear, when the customer paid cash)
  • The order number and total
  • New Sale — start the next sale immediately
  • Print Receipt — print via a connected thermal printer or the browser print dialog. If auto-print is enabled in your receipt settings, the receipt prints automatically.
  • Send via WhatsApp — share the digital receipt with the customer on WhatsApp. See WhatsApp Sharing.
  • View Orders — exit to the orders list

The order appears in Sales with its order number, inventory is adjusted automatically (when tracking is enabled), and the order source is recorded for analytics.

Tip

Need a digital receipt? Open the order from the Sales list — from the order details you can download a PDF, copy a shareable receipt link, or show a QR code the customer can scan.
