Service Fees

How to set up and manage service fees added to your store's orders.

What are Service Fees?

Service fees are additional charges added to orders, for example a restaurant's 10% table-service charge. Fees appear as a separate line item in the order summary, keeping pricing transparent for the customer.

How to Configure Service Fees

  1. Go to Settings > Stores, open your store, and select the Service Fees tab.
  2. Click Add Fee and configure it:
SettingDescription
Fee TypeFixed (a set amount) or Percentage (a share of the subtotal, up to 100%)
Fee ValueThe amount or the percentage
Fulfillment methodOptional. Leave empty to apply the fee to all methods, or pick one method (for example Dine-In only)
  1. Click Save.

A store can have multiple service fees; each appears in the fees table where you can edit or delete it.

Scope by Fulfillment Method

Many cafes need a service charge on dine-in only, not on pickup or delivery.

  • If Fulfillment method is left empty, the fee applies to every order for that store.
  • If you set it to a method (for example Dine-In), the fee applies only when the order uses that method.

Cafe example: a 12% fee scoped to Dine-In. A dine-in ticket gets the 12% charge; the same cart as Pickup does not.

You can combine a dine-in-only fee with other fees that apply to all methods, or with fees scoped to Pickup or Delivery.

How Service Fees Appear on Orders

When an order is created for a store with matching service fees:

  • Matching fees are added to the order automatically
  • Each appears as Service Fee in the order summary
  • Percentage fees are calculated from the subtotal

Example (10% on all methods):

ItemAmount
Subtotal200 EGP
Service Fee (10%)20 EGP
Tax (14%)30.80 EGP
Total250.80 EGP

See Pricing & Tax Calculations for a full breakdown of how totals are computed.

Overriding Service Fees on an Order

When making a sale, you can manually adjust the fee for that order:

  1. In the cart summary, open the Fees option.
  2. Enter the new amount.
  3. The order total updates automatically.

Note

Overriding the fee only affects the current order. The default fee configuration stays unchanged for future orders.
